Looking for a healthy and tasty breakfast? I've got the solution! :)

Made at home this granola will bring you more nutrients and less sugars than the one in the shops.

With the help of the amazing nutritionist Gaia Poggi we elaborate the nutritional value of this exact home-made Granola, that you can find at the end of the post.

Having granola for brekfast will give you that much need it boost when having a busy morning, will last you long in your pantry and why not, it's chipper... :P

Some of the benefits are coming from the oats are incredibly nutritious proving us lots of vitamins and minerals. They help to reduce our blood sugar and cholesterol level.

Being filled with fibre will keep us full for longer, which will help losing weight but "snacking less" or eating less at lunch.

All these wonderful oats mixed with the healthy nutritional benefits of the different nuts, like some almonds which are a great source of antioxidants and vitamin E. Or some walnuts rich in Omega 3 and some nutrients that help to protect our brain.

Last but not least, the splendid honey, the perfect and healthier substitute of the sugar.

It's a breakfast you can enjoy either with some milk or yoghurt. And the best part it's that it's very easy to personalize! Add your favourite nuts, some chocolate chips or top up with fresh fruits in the morning. Be creative.

And don't forget that homemade granola is much healthier that the one you buy, and it's easy and fast to do.

And with this 3 ingredients, about 20 minutes of your time and 1 oven... you will have the perfect breakfast for at least 10 days or so...

Let's see how...

Shopping list:

150 to 200 gr of honey (depending on how sweet you like it)

250 gr of oats

200 gr of nuts (Here you can add your favourites, I like to use walnuts, hazelnut, macadamia, goji berry, almonds...)

Step by step: The first thing it's to "melt" our honey, ideally on a pan. Once it's liquid we can add our oats and nuts and mix it well. We have to add a pinch of salt to keep the mix crunchy.

Once that's well mixed, we lay it down on a tray and we baked it for about 15-20 minutes on 170ºc.

In a few minutes, you will start noticing the nice smell coming from the oven.

Don't forget to stir time to time during the baking so all the parts can get a nice gold colour.

In about 20 minutes the granola will be ready, so we can leave it outside to chill down. If you like, you can add some chocolate chips, coconut or dry fruits like banana chips.

Let's see the nutritional value of this homemade granola made by the nutritionist Gaia Poggi. Don't forget to go to her Instagram or Facebook and say "ciao". :)
