Homemade banana bread with chocolate chips... maybe one of the most loved versions?
I definitely loved it with chocolate chips but ey, if you prefer to make it with some nuts, just swap the chocolate for the same amount of nuts. Try it with walnuts or pecan nuts... it's such an amazing combo.
I want to share with you the nutritional value of this banana bread at the end of the post, made by Dra. Gaia Poggi.
Usually, people do this cake on a bread shape or plum cake shape... but don't worry if you don't have it! I'm using a round cake mould.
Ok, let's get our ingredients ready and let's start with this easy and tasty recipe.
Shopping list:
200gr eggs
200gr chocolate chips or nuts
8gr baking powder
210gr flour
100gr caster sugar
200gr banana
75gr light brown sugar
2gr cinnamon
200gr vegetable oil
2gr bicarbonate soda
Step by step:
1 - Mix and mash the bananas with the vegetable oil. TIP: We do this so we get a kind of paste. If your bananas have been sitting there for a while and getting that brown colour, even better!
2 - Mix the eggs with the brown and caster sugar. PERSONALIZE: I used both of them to make the cake moister, but you can use just 1 type of sugar.
3 - Add your dry ingredients to the mix; flour, cinnamon, bicarbonate soda and baking powder. TIP: Mix the chocolate chips with some flour, like this they will not stay at the bottom of our banana bread.
4 - Add the mix of banana and vegetable oil to the rest.
5 - When everything it's well mixed, add the chocolate chips.
6 - Preheat the oven at 160ºC and get your tray ready. I put some butter and parchment paper on top.
7 - Bake the cake at 160ºC for about 1hour or 1h 30 depending on your oven.
